Yesterday our agent called and said we could be signing by the end of this week. Whoa! I was surprised by that. I thought that was the end of the process and we were then home owners. Then I found out it takes a few more days after signing to finalize everything, but those last steps shouldn't take more than a week.
UPDATE: After leaving the post for a while to do some silly things like feeding the baby, feeding my self and changing the laundry, I received a phone call and we are going to be signing tomorrow. The time is still TBD but it will happen tomorrow. How cool is that! I can't believe I am so close to home ownership.

Let's just say my lack of packing is now starting to freak me out!!!! EEK!!!

I just paused my packing efforts to take a break and read your post about packing. Good luck with that! If you change your phone number make sure you let me know!
Congrats! I worked at a title company for a few years. After you sign all the papers it usually does take a couple days to get all of the money in the right place and then record the deeds, etc. at the county courthouse. But it shouldn't take more than a day or 2 unless there is a major hangup (at least in my experience).
